"Blue Dreamin"        Print# 34865     A Great Blue Heron wades in the water in front of Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, Oregon. It was very dark when this shot was taken and a fairly long exposure of 1.3 seconds was needed to get enough light to capture the scene. When Herons are looking for food, they will often stand very still, which aided me in taking the shot. The dark color of night also provided the wonderful blue cast while the last bit of light on the low on the horizon reflected on the water.
